The Ford Kuga is up there with the best in the crossover SUV class as a handsome and spacious option that delivers great value for money. A spacious cabin is found within the car’s compact dimensions to accommodate the whole family comfortably.
Ford has given the Kuga a look of determination by flaring its wheel arches and adding distinctive features to the front and rear. Front fog lamps sit at the base of large bumper inserts with sporty fins, and the headlamps stretch from a slim grille back over the alloy wheels. A tough plastic moulding skirts around the base of the body to protect it from bumps and scrapes, while off-road style bumpers highlight the car’s SUV inspiration.
Attention to detail is high inside the classy cabin. The seats have been ergonomically designed to deliver comfort after hours on the road, and the gear stick has been placed higher up the centre console so it falls naturally to hand. Tall passengers won’t feel cramped on the rear bench which is 60/40 split folding so you can carry long items of cargo. Push all three seats down and hold as much as 1,603 litres behind the cockpit.
Rewarding petrol and diesel engines deliver ample power to pull a full cabin and at the same time return high fuel economy.
The 146bhp 1.5-litre EcoBoost will sprint from 0-60mph in around 9.7 seconds and achieve as much as 45.6mpg combined. The diesels, which are all 2.0-litres in size, take the car from 0-60mph in approximately 9.2 seconds (178bhp 4WD).
Both fuel types offer four and two-wheel drive versions to match performance to the routes you expect to encounter.
Bundles of smart technology works behind the scenes to keep you and your passengers safe in the Kuga. As well as tried and tested system like an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and cruise control, the MPV features Roll Over Mitigation and an Emergency Brake Warning. An ultra-high strength steel safety cage surrounds the cabin to protect you from impacts as multiple airbags deploy inside if you are involved in one to minimise injuries.
Comprehensive audio and communications systems entertain and connect you as you enjoy the Kuga’s safe drive. Standard in the Zetec model is Ford SYNC with AppLink and Emergency Assistance, which give you access to smartphone applications and alert the emergency services to an accident respectively. Plug in and play music from an iPod using the dedicated port and take calls hands-free using the Bluetooth® interface. Further up the range is built-in satellite navigation and a premium Sony speaker system.
The Kuga has plenty more highlights which can all be explained by a TP Topping sales adviser when you enquire with our Enniskillen showroom. Make contact through the website or over the phone for further details and to book a test drive.
